eXaFrame

Designed for the perfect fusion of CT-RMI head and neck images

eXaFrame is a head and neck immobilization system specifically designed for the perfect fusion of CT-RMI images and the hypofractioned treatment of tumors located in these anatomical regions. The system uses thermoplastic masks of 3, 4 and 5 points with an L-shaped profile.

It is the only product on the market designed to be introduced in conventional isotropic resonance antennas (3T) and CT, which results in CT-RMI fusions of high reliability and quality by reducing the intervention of image fusion software. It is also compatible with PET systems (Positron Emission Tomography).

eXaFrame is made of sintered materials that are radiotransparent and dielectrically compatible with the RMI, so it is used during image acquisition and treatment, allowing the patient to be immobilized in exactly the same position. Thus, eXaFrame contributes to increase accuracy and reduce toxicity in radiotherapy H&N treatments.

Conventional CT-RMI fusions vs CT-RMI fusions with eXaFrame

The applications of CT-RMI fusions in the central nervous system face the fact that the CT images are acquired in radiotherapy position and immobilization devices, while the IMR image is acquired with the head leaned back. For this reason, it is necessary the intervention of fusion software’s that rotate, rescale and deform the images to achieve an acceptable fusion. This generates mergers of poor quality and poor geometric accuracy.

eXaFrame has being designed to position the patient exactly in the same position in both imaging systems (CT and MRI), so the problems of fusion are solved.
